Thousands in Prague protest against the reform of public TV and radio funding
On October 25, 2026, protests took place in Prague against the plan of Andrej Babiš's government to abolish the licence fee for public media and replace it with budget funding. The lower house of parliament fast-tracked consideration of the bill; the reform envisages cutting broadcasters' budgets by about 15%.
