From 6 November, pornography depicting strangulation, incest and underage roleplay will be banned in England and Wales
The UK government has announced that from 6 November 2026, possessing and publishing pornography depicting strangulation or choking, incestuous relations, or adults portraying children under 16 will become criminal offences in England and Wales. The measure follows a 2025 review led by Baroness Gabby Bertin, which found that strangulation scenes are widespread on popular sites.
