A Chelyabinsk school checked students' phones: police confirmed it, lawyers pointed to the limits of authority
At the 'IT-Litsey Privilegiya' school in Chelyabinsk, a juvenile affairs inspector asked high school students during a lesson to show the chats, channels and gallery on their phones. The police confirmed the check, calling it preventive work, and stated that the inspector did not take the students' phones in his hands. A lawyer reminded that a person can be compelled to show the contents of a phone only in a criminal case or as part of an inquiry into a crime.
