SafeRoad data leak: Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Security Service launch investigation, company denies everything

On 28–29 October, Telegram bots began offering databases with personal data of Uzbekistan residents, allegedly involving the SafeRoad service. The company SAFE Service (formerly SafeRoad) calls the reports slander and unfair competition. The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Cybersecurity Center under the State Security Service and the developer Autodoc are conducting a joint investigation.

Google Pay launched in Uzbekistan: announcement at the C5+1 session in Samarkand

On October 19, 2026, at a technology panel session within the C5+1 format in Samarkand, Google Cloud director Marcin Krasuski announced the launch of the Google Pay payment service in Uzbekistan. The launch became possible after March amendments to the law “On Personal Data” that removed the mandatory localization of data. Earlier, the Central Bank had reported preparations for the launch of Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Suspect in cyberattack on Dodo Pizza chain's system placed under house arrest

The Tverskoy Court of Moscow has placed 20-year-old Denis Fridman under house arrest until December 8. He is charged with a cyberattack on the IT system of the Dodo Pizza pizzeria chain under Part 3 of Article 272.1 of the Criminal Code. According to the investigation, Fridman unlawfully gained access to customers' personal data and, for monetary compensation, passed it to other persons for publication in one of the Telegram channels.
