Tax penalties proposed to be capped at the amount of the principal debt
A draft law on supporting entrepreneurs, approved by the Legislative Chamber in the first reading on 27 October, provides that the tax penalty cannot exceed the amount of the unpaid tax. Currently, the Tax Code contains no such restriction, although it was in force in the 2007 version.
