UN: Current climate plans will deliver only a 6% emissions cut, while the ultra-rich profit from the crisis
On 27 October the UN published two reports: national commitments for 2035 would cut emissions by only 6% against the required 60%, while climate finance has grown to $1.9 trillion a year but is still insufficient. A parallel Oxfam report claims that the investments of the wealthiest are linked to 486 million tonnes of CO2-equivalent and a 'double windfall' from disasters.
