Onishchenko spoke about the transmission routes of monkeypox
RAS Academician Gennady Onishchenko said that the monkeypox virus can be transmitted by airborne droplets, but close contact is required for infection. The fatality rate of the disease, according to him, is low. Earlier, five people who had contact with a patient with suspected monkeypox in the Moscow region were hospitalized, but their tests turned out to be negative.
