NHS England: transgender patients to be placed in hospital wards by biological sex
NHS England has issued new guidance under which transgender patients must be placed in hospital wards and use sanitary facilities according to their biological sex rather than their gender identity. The guidance follows the UK Supreme Court ruling of April 2025. Human rights organisations have expressed concerns about the practical implementation of the document.
