Zakharova claimed small peoples are isolated in Europe and compared the Russian approach
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Sputnik radio that national minorities in Western Europe have to spend years seeking recognition of their rights, whereas in Russia small peoples preserve their language and culture without special permits. Earlier, Sergei Naryshkin rejected the interpretation of interethnic relations in Russia as colonial exploitation.
