US disables vessel M/V Huda in Gulf of Oman for attempting to breach Iran blockade
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that on November 7, it struck the stern of a St. Kitts-flagged vessel with precision-guided munitions after its crew ignored warnings and attempted to breach Iran's maritime blockade. The UAE National Guard confirmed the rescue of 22 people. Meanwhile, the IRGC claimed two tankers were mined in the Strait of Hormuz while traveling unauthorized routes. CENTCOM stated that since July, 147 vessels have complied with the blockade, five refusing vessels were disabled, and 10 Iranian tankers linked to the IRGC's shadow network were destroyed. Tensions between Tehran and Washington have intensified following recent explosions in Iran and a US strike on Iranian air defenses.
