Czech arms makers bet on space after the Ukraine boom
The Czech group CSG has bought a stake in Canada's MDA Space, seeking to diversify its business after the explosive growth of the defense industry driven by orders for Kyiv. Czech defense exports rose from €600 million in 2021 to €4.7 billion in 2025, but the new ruling coalition has wound down the ammunition initiative, and the industry depends on exports for 90%.
