Syria Detains Ali Kayyali, Accused in the 2013 Baniyas Massacre
Syrian intelligence detained Ali Kayyali (Mihraan Ural), a militia commander linked to the mass killings in Al-Bayda and Baniyas in May 2013. According to SANA, he was trying to cross the border; according to SOHR, he was taken in Lebanon. The detention came 11 days after the arrest of his deputy Jamal Trabelsi.
