Lucy Harrison's mother refused: UK police say they have no authority over the death case in Texas
Cheshire Police responded to Jane Coates, mother of 23-year-old Lucy Harrison, who was shot dead by her father in Texas in January 2025, that UK police 'have no legal authority' to interfere with decisions of American authorities. Earlier, a coroner in England ruled the death an unlawful killing, but a grand jury in Collin County declined to bring charges.
