Russian polar base Smolensk to open on Livingston Island in Antarctica
Traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and the founder of the 5 Oceans club, Oleg Dudkin, have set off for Antarctica to establish the first polar base of modern Russia's history, Smolensk, on Livingston Island. It is intended for long-term fundamental research.
