Nithya Raman is close to winning the Los Angeles mayoral election
According to Decision Desk HQ and AP, Indian-American politician and urbanist Nithya Raman is ahead of incumbent Mayor Karen Bass — 51.7% to 48.3% with 67% of votes counted. If she wins, she will become the first mayor of Los Angeles of Asian descent and continue the wave of victories by left-wing Democrats in major US cities.
