President of Kyrgyzstan Announces Preparation of Infrastructure for Nuclear Energy Development

Sadyr Zhaparov, at a meeting with heads of state bodies, announced the start of infrastructure preparation for nuclear energy. He named two directions of energy policy — modernization of grids and expansion of generation, including the Kambar-Ata-1 HPP and the Kara-Keche CHPP, as well as plans for importing petroleum products and producing fuel and lubricants domestically.

EIB seeks cross-border projects in Central Asia: Kambar-Ata-1 HPP, roads and green technologies

The European Investment Bank intends to expand financing of cross-border infrastructure projects in Central Asia. EIB Vice-President Marek Mora, in an interview with Euronews during a visit to Astana, spoke about support for the Kambar-Ata-1 HPP, loans for Kazakhstan's roads and financing conditions, including environmental standards and a 'win-win' for European industry.
