Jailed former Democratic Unionist Party leader Jeffrey Donaldson is the subject of a Metropolitan Police investigation following an allegation that he raped a woman inside the parliament building in 2016. He was previously sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexual offences against children.

The sentences for two victims run consecutively, but due to a 2008 law he will serve only half the term — until the end of 2033, if his appeal fails. His wife Eleanor was found to have committed five of the acts alleged against her; a decision on her will be made later.
