Indonesia deploys more than 20,000 troops in Jakarta amid wiretapping case involving the president
Indonesia's armed forces have transferred more than 20,000 troops to Jakarta after authorities launched an investigation into the alleged wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto. Three high-ranking police generals have been detained, including the former chief of the national police, now head of the presidential staff. The link between the troop deployment and the scandal has not been officially confirmed.
