A bill tightening liability for violations of industrial safety requirements was adopted by the Legislative Chamber in its third reading and sent to the Senate. It provides for stricter measures for harm to citizens' lives and health, as well as liability of officials for the absence of state control at hazardous facilities.
Otabek YusupovDeputy Farhod Zayniyev reported that 628 gas stations in Uzbekistan do not comply with the norm requiring a minimum distance of 125 meters from residential buildings. A separate sanction for this violation was removed from the industrial safety bill due to corruption risks and the risk of shutting down the stations. Liability remains under the general norm. The government plans a phased relocation of such facilities.
