Mexican healthcare workers protest against medicine shortages and low wages in the IMSS system
Doctors, nurses and technical staff of Mexico's largest public medical institution, IMSS, take to the streets of Monterrey and Mexico City, demanding pay raises, new hires, and an end to medicine shortages. The government has proposed an 8% raise and a 12-point plan through February 2027, but workers have rejected these measures. Patients' families are forced to buy medicines themselves.
