Number of attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz may exceed official figures — IMO
The head of the International Maritime Organization, Arsenio Dominguez, said that actual attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz may be undercounted due to 'shadow' tankers with false flags and switched-off AIS systems. According to the IMO, since the start of the US–Iran war at least 125 vessels have been attacked, 34 of them in October alone.
