F1 to return to standard 305 km race distance in 2028
According to BBC Sport, the maximum Formula 1 grand prix distance will be reduced from 305 to 290 km in the 2027 season due to the fuel consumption characteristics of the new hybrid power units, and will return to the standard 305 km in 2028. The power split between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor will change in two stages to 60/40 by 2028.
