Chair of European Parliament trade committee urged resuming talks on a broad trade agreement with China
Chair of the European Parliament's international trade committee Bernd Lange said the EU should pursue a comprehensive agreement with China, including an investment component, instead of sector-by-sector talks. The statement came ahead of a visit by 12 MEPs to Beijing on 27–29 October amid trade tensions and a recent deal on hybrid cars that Brussels considers insufficient to address a deficit of around €1 billion a day.
