US to send first nuclear submarine USS Colorado to a base in Western Australia in late 2027
The Pentagon has designated the nuclear attack submarine USS Colorado as the first vessel in the rotational force at HMAS Stirling. This is the first major milestone of the AUKUS submarine program, whose cost is estimated at up to $235 billion over 30 years.
