First 700-tonne span girder installed on the Moscow — Saint Petersburg high-speed mainline
On the section of the mainline between Moscow and Tver, in Klin in the Moscow region, the first reinforced concrete girder weighing 700 tonnes and over 30 metres long has been installed — over a highway. This marks the transition from preparatory work to span assembly: in total, the high-speed mainline will require more than four thousand such structures, and the overpass in Klin will consist of 24 spans with a total length of about 800 metres.
