Lewis Hamilton won qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix, setting a time of 1:16.514 and beating Russell by 0.009 seconds. It is his first pole since the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix and his first with Ferrari. Before the race, Antonelli could clinch the championship early.
