Novosibirsk resident sentenced to six and a half years in prison for beating and torturing an acquaintance with fire
A court in Novosibirsk sentenced a 39-year-old man to 6 years and 6 months in a strict-regime penal colony for brutally torturing an acquaintance in the Kirovsky district: the victim was beaten at least twenty times and then held face down over a bonfire. In addition to imprisonment, the convicted man must pay compensation of 700,000 rubles. The accomplice who took part in the attack has not yet been found — his case has been separated into separate proceedings.
