Helion receives $175 million from US Commerce Department to develop semiconductors for fusion power plants
Fusion startup Helion has received a three-year $175 million grant under the CHIPS Act to develop and manufacture power semiconductors, along with $50 million in private investment. The company says halving losses in electronics could double the energy output of its reactors. A new production line in Washington state will be the first of its kind in the US.
