Poland demands through the courts that the building of the closed Russian consulate be transferred to the Gdańsk treasury
The Gdańsk District Court is considering a lawsuit by the Polish State Treasury seeking the transfer of the building of the former Russian consulate general on Batory Street. The lawsuit was filed in June; proceedings cannot begin until a copy of the lawsuit is served on the Russian side. The Russian Foreign Ministry insists on settling the matter through a new intergovernmental agreement.
