Gabon lifts eight-month social media ban
Gabon's regulator has lifted the block on WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram imposed in February. The authorities explained the ban as a fight against offensive content, and its lifting by negotiations with technology companies. At the same time, a new rule on user identification remains in force in the country.
