'Farm' and 'Eco' on Packaging Do Not Guarantee Quality: What Is Actually Protected by Law
Roskachestvo reminds that the words 'natural', 'farm', 'eco' and 'bio' in Russia have no legal definition and remain marketing tricks. From January 1, 2026, a voluntary GOST R 72236-2025 for farm products is in effect, but it does not regulate quality. The only legally protected word is 'organic', which requires a certificate.
