Tesla showed flying Roadster with SpaceX technologies: analysts see limited commercial value
Elon Musk demonstrated the Tesla Roadster supercar with cold-gas thrusters based on SpaceX technologies. Tesla shares rose on the hype, but analysts at Quilter Cheviot, ING and Deepwater consider the demonstration more of a PR stunt than a source of profit. Production is expected in 2028, the flying Rocket version is by invitation only, and prices have not been announced. EASA regulators point to the need for certification, while investors await the conversion of technologies into profit.
