Eurozone launches procedure to choose Lagarde's successor at the helm of the ECB
Eurozone governments must submit candidates for ECB President by 6 November, with the Eurogroup to review them on 9 November. The frontrunners are Pablo Hernández de Cos and Klaas Knot. Lagarde will leave her post on 7 February 2027, ending her term early.
