Germany's economy grew 0.2% in Q3 — faster than forecasts
Germany's GDP in the third quarter of 2026 rose by 0.2% against an expected 0.1%, despite the energy shock from the war with Iran and low water levels on the Rhine. The growth was driven by government and private spending, while exports and investment declined. The French economy, by contrast, contracted by 0.1%.
