CISA Staff Refused to Secretly Buy and Hack a Voting Machine at the Request of DHS Appointees — ProPublica
According to ProPublica, political appointees at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, after Trump's return to the White House, demanded that CISA secretly acquire a voting machine and attempt to hack it, passing the results to the White House and concealing vulnerabilities from the manufacturer. Agency staff said the task was unfeasible, partly due to staffing cuts. The appointees ultimately abandoned the idea.
