Japan Establishes National Agency for Emergency Management
A new agency has begun operating in Japan under the leadership of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, tasked with preparing for earthquakes, floods, and volcanic eruptions. Regional hubs will be selected by the summer of 2027, with operations starting by July 2028.
