US imposes sanctions on eight Canadian currency exchangers over alleged evasion of Iran restrictions
On November 6, the US Treasury added eight Canada-registered currency and digital asset exchange companies to its sanctions list. According to OFAC, they exchanged Iranian rials for digital assets and were linked to sanctioned Iranian exchanges, IRGC addresses, and the laundering of drug trafficker Ryan Wedding's proceeds.
