David Jones — Australia's oldest department store — enters voluntary administration after 188 years of trading
Australia's department store chain David Jones, which has been operating since 1838, has announced voluntary administration: around 6,000 jobs are at risk. The stores continue to operate while receivers from FTI Consulting examine the company. Shortly before the decision, the landlord Westfield said October's rent had gone unpaid.
