Dakar Hosts Africa's First-Ever Olympic Games — Youth Competitions Begin on Saturday
Starting October 31, Senegal will host the Youth Olympic Games, the first Olympic event on the African continent. Approximately 2,700 athletes aged 17 and under will compete in 25 sports across eight venues in three locations. The Games take place against the backdrop of Senegal's economic crisis and mark the return of Russian athletes to the Olympic arena under their own flag.
