Former Paraguayan President Santiago Peña taken into custody in the Ueno Bank collapse case
A Paraguayan court has imposed a pre-trial measure of temporary detention on former president Santiago Peña in the case of the collapse of Ueno Bank, which left about three million clients without access to their accounts. Earlier, the senate impeached him, and the prosecutor's office ordered his detention. Presidential powers passed to Pedro Alliana.
