The proposal does not create new grounds for seizing cars from citizens.
Sevara AzamovaDeputies of the KPRF faction and senator Airat Gibatdinov sent a proposal on October 21 to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to transfer confiscated cars free of charge to state institutions of healthcare, education, social protection, culture and sports. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, more than 33,000 cars have been confiscated from drivers who drove drunk repeatedly, over 5,500 of which have already been sent to the SVO zone.
