A veterinarian explained how to recognize dementia in cats by nighttime crying
Anastasia Balmakova, an assistant at Kazan Agrarian University, explained that frequent loud nighttime crying in an elderly cat may be a sign of cognitive dysfunction syndrome rather than a request for food. Similar symptoms are caused by pain, hyperthyroidism, and loss of hearing or vision, so the diagnosis is made by exclusion.
