103-year-old US resident links her longevity to her Russian roots
Evgenia Bailey, the oldest member of the Russian diaspora in the USA, celebrated her 103rd birthday. She said she learned about her family's predisposition to longevity in 2009, when she met her mother's relative in Saint Petersburg: the woman's father had lived to 103. Bailey herself was born in the USA to a family of émigrés who arrived in California in July 1923.
