Cambridge scientists create first broad-spectrum bird flu vaccine using AI
Scientists at the University of Cambridge have developed a vaccine against bird flu that targets multiple strains of the virus at once, including variants that have not yet emerged. In studies on mice and ferrets it provided complete protection, whereas the existing WHO vaccine saved only half of the animals. The work is published in Cell Reports Medicine; the next stage is clinical trials in humans.
