Experts: the carbon tax in Uzbekistan should not be introduced to fill the budget
Tax consultant Murod Mukhammadiyev warned that a carbon tax introduced as an additional tax will fall on the end consumer through rising prices. Economist Otabek Bakirov believes the purpose of the tax is to push enterprises toward environmental standards, not to replenish the budget, and pointed to the absence of an emissions measurement system.
