A female dusky shark that became stuck in a Busan canal in mid-September turned into a local celebrity: she was named Bukangi, drew more than 1.6 million spectators and became the city's mascot. After several failed attempts, rescuers led by the Ministry of Oceans guided her out of the canal, but she kept returning until October 22–23, when she was escorted to the open sea. There have been no new sightings in recent days, which experts consider a good sign.
