Singapore looks for alternatives to air conditioners: chilled beams and radiant cooling
Singapore, where about 99% of private homes are equipped with air conditioners, is testing alternative cooling technologies — active chilled beams, passive displacement cooling and radiant cooling. According to the authorities, by mid-2026 such systems had been installed in at least 33 public and 14 private buildings.
