Opera has announced the WebAI web standard, which makes it possible to run AI models locally, without the cloud. The feature is available as an early preview in Opera One; support for open models includes Gemma and Apple's model on Mac.

Users are offered to switch to Dia, where passwords, bookmarks and extensions will be transferred. Requests to open-source Arc are being declined by the company due to the proprietary ADK.
