Storms Aiden and Boelo hit northern Europe: over 150,000 homes without power, hundreds of cancelled flights, one dead
The storms Aiden and Boelo, which struck less than 24 hours apart, left more than 150,000 homes without electricity in Britain, France and Germany, caused hundreds of flight cancellations, including about 90 at Amsterdam's Schiphol, and paralysed transport. One person died in Scotland, and a fallen tree also injured a runner at the marathon in Lille.
