Binance suspends withdrawals amid reports of a hack and billions of dollars flowing out
The largest crypto exchange, Binance, confirmed a security incident and temporarily halted withdrawals on several networks. Exchange founder Changpeng Zhao suggested a hack had occurred, while Tether and Circle froze tokens worth about $971 million and $823 million respectively. Estimates of the stolen amount differ: from $2 billion to $5.7 billion.
